Verwarrend Verkeer Nederland
In the two seconds it takes to pass a traffic sign, people can absorb a maximum of eight words and two symbols. The public space in the Netherlands is filled with traffic signs, as if we attempt to address every situation through signage. This results in remarkable and confusing scenarios. In the project ‘Verwarrend Verkeer Nederland’ I explore this confusing visual language of signage. How could I effectively share my fascination and perspective on the public space with others? To accomplish this, I created a publication. Within its pages, I intertwined confusing traffic situations with my own designs, challenging viewers to critically look between what is real and what is not. By doing so, my intention is to make other people more aware of the weird situations that happen daily in the public space.
